Description

This is a fine early 20th century Chinese blanc de chine reticulated vase of baluster form with prunus design standing on a turned wooden stand.

It is a particularly good example of Chinese blanc de chine ware as the edges and definition of the reticulated design are very fine. Most later examples are rather crudely cut by the potter resulting in rough edges and poor definition.

Dimensions: Height including stand 28.5 cm x Diameter 12 cm
One of the photographs shows it alongside a 750ml bottle (equivalent to a standard sized wine bottle)
Weight 701 g

Condition: Very good antique condition without chips or cracks. It was fired with a hole in the base with the view to being turned into a lamp base, but it appears to have only ever been used as a display vase as the stand lacks a hole to accommodate a wire. A small section of the rim is missing on the wooden stand but the vase sits snugly inside the rim and the whole is very stable.

Postage & packing: £8 within the UK. Please contact David if you would like this vase sent overseas.
