Description

This is a good 19th century Flemish or Dutch pressed brass marginal mirror in the Baroque style having a central bevelled glass flanked with smaller plates each framed by intricate stamped brass repoussé borders.

The impressive crest is centred by a vase on a pedestal overflowing with flowers flanked by scrolling foliage while the prominent repoussé clasps in each of the four corners bear elaborately decorated C scrolls.

Condition: The brass has been cleaned and the mirror glass, which are all original, are in good clean condition with some minor ageing and spotting. The mirror is still very serviceable and would look splendid in a hall, landing or reception room where the angled glass can catch the light in an attractive way. There is brass wire between two eye screws on the reverse for hanging.
