Description

This is an elegant and decorative William IV rosewood and satinwood banded sewing box with a dome-shaped top and its original lined interior, c.1830. The lid opens with a fitted cast steel handle to reveal a lemon yellow paper lined interior with a lift out, compartmentalised tray bearing a silk covered lid over the central bay. This box can be used for storing jewellery or to enjoy as an objet d'art on a reception room table.

Condition: This box is in very good antique condition. It lacks a key and one of the internal steel handles to lift the tray. There is a professional repair to the satinwood veneer on the back corner of the right side.
