Description

This is a charming Artist's Proof etching by Graham Clarke of a Cornish Harbour titled 'St Winwalloe's Dream'. It is signed in pencil bottom right with the title and 'Artists Proof' in brackets bottom left.

Winwaloe was a 5th century Celtic saint who gave his name to one of the oldest churches in Cornwall, at Gunwalloe. He lived at a time when Christianity was struggling to find a foothold in an area where paganism was still rife, and this could be the reason why the church was built on a beach and not somewhere more convenient.

Dimensions: Paper 63 x 46 cm, Plate impression 54 x 34 cm

Condition: The etching is in fine condition. It is currently mounted but the mount will be removed and the etching rolled into a tube for posting.

Postage & packing: £8 within the UK. Please contact us for a postage quote if you are an international buyer.
