Gents 1920s 9ct gold Waltham wrist watch.

The watch has a seven jewel grade 161 hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement has nicely patterned plates and is signed Waltham along with the serial number 19,628,323 which dates it back to 1914.

The watch measures 32mm wide excluding the winding crown and 32mm high excluding the lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Birmingham 1924 with a case maker’s mark for Aaron Dennison, supplier of cases to Waltham UK.

There is a discrepancy in date between the case and movement. Often whole movements were replaced if a repair was required as years ago, it would sometimes have been a more economical option. However, the watch would always have been a Waltham.

The case is in lovely condition. The back of the watch has the initials FM and the date Xmas 1925.

The lens is in good condition (reflection showing in the photos).

The signed dial is in its original finish with original hands (the infill has been removed from the hands and numbers over the year).

The watch has a later leather strap.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.

Due to Customs regulations, we are unable to send watches / precious metals to certain countries. If you are unsure about your country’s regulations, please contact us and we can check for you. Any orders from prohibited countries will be refunded, less any Paypal fees which are non-refundable.

All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.

We are a VAT registered company and all purchases are covered by Consumer Regulations.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
