A dainty antique 9ct gold keepsake locket suspended from an 18 inch 9ct gold necklace.

This antique locket was assayed (tested for gold purity) at Chester Assay Office in 1910.

The anterior surface is decorated with a shield cartouche.

The shield cartouche is framed by acanthus leaves and forget-me-not flowers.

The shield motif conveys the desire to protect.

Acanthus leaves symbolise the desire for longevity.

Forget-me-not flowers express the feelings of deep love and respect.

The posterior surface is ornamented with ivy leaves.

Ivy leaves convey strong bonds, fidelity, loyalty and devotion.

The interior compartments are fitted with the original gold frames, liners and a portrait protector.

This antique pendant is suitable to hold two photographs, locks of hair or miniature portraits.

All clasps and hinges work perfectly.
