A splendid fully hallmarked 15 carat gold locket which was crafted by Sheldon Brothers in 1908. This glorious Edwardian double portrait locket is suspended from a gorgeous barrel clasp 15 carat gold necklace.

Both sides of this wonderful portrait locket are embellished with forget-me-nots which symbolise deep respect and love. The shield shaped cartouche is framed by acanthus leaves. The shield represents the desire to protect the wearer of the locket. Acanthus leaves also adorn the other side. They have been used to convey everlasting life since ancient times.

The hinges and catches work perfectly. The interior locket contains both of the original frames. The card backings and a clear portrait protector are present.

This solid gold locket will hold two portraits or photographs.
