A breathtakingly beautiful Victorian fully hallmarked 9 carat gold shield shaped locket crafted by Albert Ernest Jenkins in 1891. This Birmingham assayed antique is ornamented with deeply symbolic engravings. The front and back of the locket are decorated with ivy leaves which symbolise everlasting love, deep friendship and fidelity. The shield shape of this solid gold locket and the shield cartouche on the back of the locket represent the desire of the donor to protect the recipient of this antique. This locket is suspended from an ornate 18 inch necklace so that it is ready to be worn immediately.

The locket and necklace catches and hinges work perfectly. The interior case can accommodate two photographs or portraits. The interior contains the original linings, frames and clear portrait protectors.
