Description

A beautiful 9ct fully hallmarked Edwardian gold locket which was assayed at Birmingham in 1907. Suspended on an ornate 20 inch necklace this intricately engraved antique pendant locket is adorned with forget-me-nots and a shield cartouche on the front. The shield represents the desire of the giver to protect the recipient. Ornate acanthus and forget-me-nots form an enchanting design on the back of the locket. Acanthus leaves have symbolised immortality, longevity and healing throughout the ages. This piece is in superb condition. The interior case contains recesses for photographs, portraits or a lock of hair. The original right hand frame is in place.

We have included a 18 inch vermeil necklace, so that this antique locket can be worn immediately. The locket is sound in every way and closes securely.
