A gorgeous unused 1960s Stratton compact. The stylish enamel lid has diamond cut gilt accents which gleam in the light. The original presentation box, felt pouch, instruction leaflet, inspection docket, puff and sifter are present. They are all pristine. This lid decoration is not one we have seen before. This vanity will never need to be cleaned as the makers, Laughton & Sons Ltd., applied a layer of lacquer at the point of manufacture which prevents any tarnish from forming. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. This accessory is everything that you would expect from the premier maker of British powder compacts - a beautiful, highly reliable accessory that is sure to delight the recipient. The mirror gives a good accurate reflection. Not only has the box protected the compact for almost fifty years but it has also been kept in such a way as to ensure its good condition too. The pouch is made from thick, good quality felt. The puff is signed 'Stratton MADE IN ENGLAND' in gilt letters. The deep golden brass gleams. The powder well is lined with an immaculate white waxed paper insert. The base is decorated with the famous all over star design and signed 'STRATTON MADE IN ENGLAND.
