A 1950s Stratton dial your own initial powder compact. Insert the key and it will turn a disc to display the initial of your choice. The original accessories are included - presentation box, turning key to select the initial, black pouch, puff and velour edged sifter. This is one of the earliest dial-an-initial compacts. The lid has especially beautiful engraving. All clasps, hinges and the dial mechanism work perfectly. The mirror gives a good clear reflection. The compact is signed 'Stratton MADE IN ENGLAND'. This compact is fitted with a self-opening inner lid. Tilt the mirror lid back to activate this device which ensures that the powder well lid opens easily. Measures 3" and weighs 107.7 grams.

This convertible powder compact is suitable for modern loose face powders or as a handbag mirror.
