Yellow, rose and pink gold, as well as silver have been used to decorate the lid, which depicts two beautiful swans etched in silver with yellow gold beaks. As they move, golden ripples form on the pond. The textured scene is framed by gold foliage at the bottom and pink gold blossoms hanging from silver branches. The compact is absolutely beautiful! The mirror gives an excellent, clear and accurate reflection. The original box, pouch, puff, spacer rings and white velour edged sifter are present.The brass is protected with a layer of lacquer and so it will not tarnish or need to be cleaned. The golden base is decorated with a fine spiral. All clasps and hinges work exactly as they should. Measures 3" and weighs 69.6 grams. Free lavishly illustrated history of this piece included.
