An unused 1960s Stratton refillable powder compact.This striking mid-century vanity has a gilt lid decorated with smooth gold tone petal shapes placed in an abstract design. The background has a subtle textured appearance, all gilt and like the day it was made. This Stratton 'Rondette' compact comes with the original features - box, felt pouch, luxurious velour edged sifter and pale pink puff. What a beauty! The interior case contains a mirrored lid which gives an excellent clear reflection. The original mirror sticker is in place. The inner lid is signed 'Stratton MADE IN ENGLAND. The powder well is coated with the original pristine white enamel. The underside of the inner lid is gilt and satinized. The base is decorated with circular bands of golden stars.Measures 2 3/4" and weighs 74.6 grams.
