An ideal silver wedding / 25th anniversary gift for her. This sterling silver Kigu compact is fully hallmarked and it was assayed in London in 1966. The lid is satinized and features a diamond cut star motif and two diamond cut borders. This vintage convertible compact is in good condition. The silver was coated with a layer of lacquer by the maker and so it will never to be cleaned. The powder well is lined with the original white waxed paper insert. The original sterling silver spacer ring is present and means that compact can hold powder pans measuring from 58 mm to the standard 67 mm. Standard sizes of compressed powder are Max Factor 'Creme Puff', Constance Carroll & Rimmel 'Stay Matte'. The lid lifts to reveal a perfect bevelled mirror which gives a clear reflection. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The original felt lined pouch, instruction leaflet and sifter are in place. The sifter will allow the use of all types of loose face powder. Measures 3" & weighs 80.7 grams. Free lavishly illustrated history of this piece included.
