A very rare Stratton 'Piccadilly' compact mirror for loose face powder which is in super condition! The 'Piccadilly'was only known to be available in 1959 & 1960. This model is hard to find and highly collectible. This vanity was made in the hey day of British compact manufacture and it is an appealing example of the high standards of that made the Stratton brand such a success story. The lid is so pretty! Tiny floral bouquets are surrounded by gilt hand painted accents and scroll work. This compact has the unique design of the lucky four leaf clover. Each edge of the lid has an indented gilt border to form the quatrefoil design. The original accessories -the presentation box, black felt pouch, signed puff, velour edged sifter and paper Stratton rosette guarantee are present. They are all pristine with no signs of powder residue. The presentation box is still in good condition. The mirror gives an excellent and accurate reflection. The inner lid is decorated with the'Compact-in-Hand' logo and signed 'Stratton. The automatic opening inner lid works perfectly. The base is decorated with the fine spiral. This vintage compact mirror measures 3" & weighs 92.2 grams. This compact is suitable for use with all loose face powder or as a handbag mirror.
