A beautiful unused vintage Stratton " Convertible " powder compact with the original accessories. This 1950s compact mirror is in superb condition. The lid has a satinized finish which gives it a luxurious appearance. Set atop the lid is a gilt floral motif set with a faux pearl. The satinized lid is an even golden colour with no dark shading - see image three to confirm this. The lids lifts to reveal an excellent mirror which gives a clear and accurate reflection. The mirror frame is signed 'STRATTON MADE IN ENGLAND'. The powder well is protected by the original insert which is pristine. This compact comes with the original presentation box, signed Stratton luxury silk and fabric puff, velour edged sifter, padded paper insert and instruction leaflet - they are all in excellent unused condition. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The base is decorated with the all over star design design. This compact was coated with a layer of transparent enamel at the point of manufacture and so it will never tarnish or need to be cleaned. This vintage compact mirror measures 3 " and weighs 93.6 grams. It is suitable for use with both loose and pressed / solid face powder or as a handbag mirror.
