A gorgeous unused mid-century Kigu vanity set with the original outer box and hard case. As the set was made in the 1960s it is ideal as a film prop. Image six shows the precise and beautiful engraved design - 'engraved flower design with "basket weave" border'. The compact has the central 'initial medallion' which is ideal for engraving with the monogram of the recipient. The powder well is lined with the original luxurious patterned waxed paper insert. The original accessories are present - beige felt pouch, pink velour edged sifter and pink fabric puff. The puff bears the Kigu trademark. The mirrors of both pieces are excellent. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The comb has all the 'teeth'. The engravings are beautiful and they gleam as they catch the light. The case is just as delightful as the vanities it contains. The outer hard case is cream. The lid and base have rims of brass. The interior of the lid is lined with cream silk which bears the triangular Kigu trademark as well as 'KIGU of London'. The base is lined with deep crimson velvet. Custom made recesses hold the compact mirror and lipstick mirror / holder neatly in place. The comb is held securely by straps set in the interior lid. The powder compact is suitable for loose and compressed face powder. It will house Max Factor 'Creme Puff', Constance Carroll CCUK & Miss Beauty. This compact is also suitable for all loose face powder. The compact measures 3" & weighs 80.8 grams. The lipstick holder / mirror measures almost 4" when opened & weighs 29.2 grams. The comb and comb holder measure almost 5" and weigh 41.1 grams.
