Stratton Musica enamel musical powder box. This superb musical powder compact was made in the 1950s. The lid has the most delightful cobalt blue enamel which is decorated with an eye-catching composition of pale blue and white floral motifs which have gilt accents. There isn't any fading or loss of enamel. This is a luxury musical powder compact comes with the original presentation box, pouch, mirror label, puff and sifter. The makers of Stratton accessories used a manufacturing processes to finish off their creations which was so exacting that even today this vanity will never need to be cleaned and the brass will not tarnish. The music box plays the Blue Danube tune very well. The lid lifts to show an excellent bevelled mirror with the original mirror label. The reflection is very clear and accurate. The mirror label gives clear and easy instructions about how to activate the self-opening inner lid. The inner lid is signed " Stratton " & has the " Compact-in-Hand " logo & an engine turned design. The patented self-opening inner lid works perfectly every time. The winder key is signed " REUGE STE. CROIX PATENT and "SWISS MADE." The base has the most pleasing design of 'curled feathers' which was only used on the luxury range of Stratton accessories. Image three is a dull over head shot so that you may see the enamel without any reflections. Measures: 3 1/4 " X 2 3/4" & weighs 168.5 grams.
