An unused 1960s Stratton 'Princess' powder compact. The whole item is in excellent condition. All clasps and hinges work perfectly. The lid is decorated with satinized golden enamel, as well as a diamond cut floral motif. This vanity was coated at the point of manufacture with a layer of lacquer which means it will never tarnish or need to be cleaned. The bevelled mirror gives a good reflection. Such great attention to detail - even the underside of the inner lid is gilded and satinized. The whole item is gleaming and clean. The base is signed 'Stratton MADE IN ENGLAND' and has an engine turned design which is adorned with gold tone stars .
Measures 3" and weighs 81.5 grams. This compact is suitable for use with all brands of loose face powder or as a handbag mirror. Free lavishly illustrated history of this piece included.
