Large Glasgow Style Antique Arts and Crafts Brass Jardiniere by Margaret Gilmour.A large size rectangular Scottish Arts and Crafts hand hammered brass jardiniere by Margaret Gilmour with Charles Rennie Mackintosh style Glasgow roses c1900.
The planter is beautifully repousse decorated with stylised roses, tendril form leaves, foliage and love hearts to all sides with typical triangular form feet to the base.
Considered as one of the “Glasgow Girls”, Margaret Gilmour attended the School of Art from 1877 until 1880. The Gilmour Studio was set up with her 2 sisters at 179 West George St. Glasgow.
Condition: In excellent condition.
Date: Circa 1900.
Size: 43.5cm long x 24cm wide x 15.5cm high.
