Christopher Dresser Arts and Crafts Linthorpe Pottery Jug.A superb and scarce Dr Christopher Dresser Linthorpe pottery jug with impressed abstract concentric circle and parallel stripe designs to the body with a geometric loop carrying handle c1880.
Beautifully glazed in a mottled green and brown glaze which highlights this superb avant-garde futuristic design.
Ref: Shape number 341 Plate 48 illustrated in the book by Richard Dennis and John Jesse 'Knowledge is Power' Christopher Dresser exhibition of 1972 held at the Fine Art Society.
Condition: In excellent original condition with no repairs.
Date: Circa 1880.
Markings: Impressed Linthorpe, Henry Tooth monogram, Chr. Dresser facsimile signature and the shape number 341.
