Description

This is a lovely solid sterling silver basket, clearly hallmarked on the pedestal base for Birmingham 1908, with the maker's mark for Henry Matthews.

The filigree work is ornate and in perfect condition. The handle is also highly decorative and carries a partial hallmark. There is evidence of gilding at the base of the inside of the basket.

The circular pedestal stand has decorations around its base. It is inscribed on one side, with the italicised initials 'M de M'.
