A French Art Deco Desk produced by Louis Majorelle of exceptional quality as you would expect from this French Cabinetmaker. The use of unusual exotic veneers book matched and spaced with ebony string line, to the front it has nine lockable drawers on a locking mechanism that when the center drawer is shut all drawers are locked, in the knee hole of the desk there are two hidden lockable secret compartments these are about a ¼ of the back of each pedestal, the handles to the front are cast in the form of beetles in gilt bronze numbered to the back , the top has a new hyde leather top in faded brown with blind tooling
