A Chinese solid elm cabinet with original lacquer produced in NorthernChina during the Quing Dynasty, this cabinet was usually bought as a gift for a newly married couple and lot were restored and exported to Europe from china in the 1980’s amongst these were early 19th century ones like this example.

The Chinoiserie artwork is simplistic and the colour has beautifully aged with images that are almost Tibetan or Mongolian,

the cabinet has been sympathetically restored and does have repaired losses of lacquer overall in well preserved condition. It also has hooks for a hanging rail if required to be a wardrobe
