Art Deco Whippet Sculpture in Bronze by BayreAntoine-Louis Bayre ( 1795- 1875 ) The Whippet, this bronze was cast around 1880 and signed Bayre fitted to black marble base, great quality casting, great colour and patina to bronze. Bayre was born in Paris and began his career as a goldsmith and fame did not come to him until in his 60’s when he was made professor of drawings at the museum of natural history
