19thC French Mother of Pearl Coin Purse


Description
Very pretty mid-19th century French mother of pearl coin purse compact with a pretty silver (unmarked) pierced and engraved decorative plaque with mother of pearl oval ring held in the design and incorporating a small framed cartouche in the centre. A push button opens the purse that concertinas out with a blue silk lining with 3 open compartments, and a further closed section with a metal mount and locking pin. This mount is marked Brevete SGDG which is the French patent mark. The little silver cartouche is blank.It measures 3" by 2" (7.5cm x 5cm). Condition is very good externally no marks or damage although the metal was originally silver plated. Inside the silk has a few small marks but all intact, no tears, etc. the little lock works and the case closely crisply.
