Description

A fine quality, very striking art nouveau silver sauce boat, of quatrefoil lobed form with domed belly and serpentine shaped, reeded rim. Set on four stylised paw feet with stepped lozenge shaped terminals and finished with a gorgeous raised split strap handle with with a sinuous shaped thumb rest and with trefoil shape terminals. Hallmarked for Birmingham 1907, makers E. S. Barnsley & Co. (Edward Souter Barnsley). A registration design number also stamped to the base.

It measures 17.7cm (7") long, 9.8cm (3 7/8") wide and 12cm (4 3/4") high. It weighs 226g / 7.3ozt.

In excellent condition with no damage, dents or repairs and minimal handling wear.
