Description

A really pretty late 19th century French "tussie mussie" posy holder with ornate pierced and embossed gilt metal flower cage with daisy flowers decorated with pale pink and duck egg blue enamel and finely engraved floral decoration. The original flower pin is attached by a very fine flat link chain and finished with a carved, turned mother of pearl handle. c.1880.

It measures 13.3cm (5 1/4") long and 5cm (2") wide.

Condition is very good with just minor wear to the enamel. There would have been a finger ring on a chain around the lower part of the handle originally.
