Description

A lovely antique Edwardian mahogany ladies cylinder writing desk dating to around 1900. With a shaped gallery to the top above a sliding cylinder door with an inlaid motif to the centre and boxwood stringing to the edges. The cylinder opens to reveal an interior fitted with five pigeon holes and a small central drawer with a pull-out leather writing surface and two larger drawers below. With fine original brass knob handles and standing on inlaid tapering legs with brass castors.

Joints all strong and with original handles and castors. It does have a mark in the polish on the top and is fading, the veneer on the very left edge of the cylinder has been damaged. There is a scratch to the centre of the writing slope and other marks from usage.
