Description

A super quality Victorian walnut country house armchair dating to circa 1860. In the style of Howard & Sons with a deep low seat, serpentine shaped open arms supported by walnut baluster shaped supports and all raised on turned legs to the front with square tapering legs to the rear. With a button upholstered back and padded seat and armrests. With original brass caps and white ceramic castors to the front stamped C & C Patent.

In good condition and very comfortable the walnut has been gently restored using traditional methods, there is an old repair to the back left leg where strengthening bars have added to the two inside edges. It it upholstered in a tartan effect chenille type fabric but does have some marks (it has not been cleaned). It has two replacement castors to the rear.
