Description

A good 19th century Victorian mahogany bookcase with flame mahogany doors and foliate carved moulded cornice.

It has two glazed doors and two panelled cupboard doors with re-entrant corners to the mouldings and a hidden drawer between. The top section has four adjustable 29cm (11 3/8in) deep shelves and the base has one 41.5cm (16 5/8in) deep fixed shelf. There is a lock to the top door which works and comes with a key whilst the bottom lock does not work, there are brass catches to the left door.

The bookcase is made from very good quality mahogany and is in very good condition. There is a small piece of veneer missing from the top of the right side of the cornice and a small dark mark to the top left corner of the right base door. The moulding that the top section sits upon has been removed on both the left and right side.
