An impeccable antique, Victorian Bohemian garnet and pearl tassel pendant.

This stunning piece is a day and night pendant, the shimmery foxtail fringe can be unclipped from the body to create a more sophisticated day look and added for a wow factor evening look.

The pendant is crafted from bloomed 18ct yellow gold, elaborately designed with reeded and beaded border housing a stunning carbuncle garnet cabochon.

The garnet is further set with any array of tiny creamy seed pearls to form a star shape.

It has a closed back and is stamped at the top with a Victorian diamond registration mark also known as a PODR mark, this tells us that the piece was manufactured on the 8th of December 1868, diamond marks were discontinued after 1883.

Tests as 18ct gold, the garnet is approx 12mm in length and 7mm width with an estimated carat weight of 4.60 ct.

The pendant comes on a fine antique belcher link chain with a barrel clasp in 9ct rosey gold.

Condition:
Very good used condition overall, some light surface wear commensurate with age, necklace is a replacement, podr mark is a little hard to read.
