A Rare to find Travelling Silver Plated Picnic set by Mappin & Webb
From a design by Dr Christopher Dresser. An antique silver plated automobile set beautifully arranged with many of the pieces slotting inside each other. All in the original Oak Box carrying case. Each piece match registration numbers
There is a similar set by Dr Christopher Dresser in the Victoria & Albert Museum in London Kettle height 9 cms (14.5 cms with handle), contains 1 pint. Teapot height 7.5 cms, contains half a pint.
1 kettle of cauldron form with rattan-covered handle and containing a tea canister and a burner
1 teapot with rattan handle, containing a drinking cup and milk jug
1 flask with screw cap probably for oil for the burner
1 rack for the burner to sit on
The plating all in excellent condition , possible not been used
Original strong oak box with blue lining and in very good condition with carrying handle and lock but no key
Box size 23cms x 21cms i would date this late Victorian
