Description

A fine circa 1920 French ormolu and patinated brass 5 branch chandelier removed from the late Eric Morecambe’s dining room at Brachefield in Harpenden which was his home from the 1960’s until his untimely death in 1984.

Eric was a connoisseur of fine antiques and had quite a collection spanning many genres.
The chandelier can just be made out in the final image of his dining room.

After his death in 1984, Brachefield remained exactly how it was until recently when the contents were finally sold, some 40 years later.
One can imagine the conversations had at the dining table sat under this very light, it was said Sundays were routine, sat at the table with a traditional Sunday roast.

This would grace any interior in any home and is a little piece of history too.

Measurements:
Drop 73cm
Dia. 70cm (appropriate)

The light has a foundry mark inside ‘1001 N’ cotton bound wires to all branches with clear bound wires to the top…. Although the light was working before removal, It would be advisable that the light was re-wired before installing to conform with today’s safety requirements…. An easy job for any electrician.
