Description

A handsome Victorian mahogany longcase clock, beautifully proportioned and offered in excellent antique condition. The hood features a swan neck pediment with carved scroll details and turned columns flanking the dial. The hand‑painted 12‑inch dial has Roman numerals, minute markers, finely shaped hands, and two subsidiary dials for seconds and date, all framed by delicate floral motifs. The movement is an 8‑day mechanism, striking the hours on a bell. The trunk door is fashioned from rich mahogany, its grain running in long, sweeping lines. The base is solid and well‑balanced, standing on short bracket feet that complete the clock’s classic Victorian silhouette. With its warm colouring, clean lines, and decorative hood, this is a particularly attractive example — ideal for a hallway, sitting room, or dining room. A true statement piece, offering both refined function and timeless decorative appeal for any interior.
