Description

A beautifully made Chinese partners’ writing desk, crafted in Hongmu‑type hardwood and now displaying a deep, mellow tone developed through age and use. The front of the desk offers six working drawers fitted with brass pull handles, while the reverse side has four working drawers with cup handles, each with a gently worn surface that speaks to the desk’s long life. All drawers run smoothly and feature panelled fronts that echo the panelled sides, giving the piece a cohesive and refined appearance. A characterful and authentic example of Chinese furniture — practical in scale, rich in detail and full of historic charm. The desk stands on straight legs that give it a clean, balanced profile, offering generous storage and an elegant decorative presence.
