Superb rosewood writing bureau with pierced brass galleries and features a fall-front panel hand-painted with a romantic scene, framed in ornate ormolu mounts and signed H. Martin. The shaped fall opens to reveal a fitted interior with a wine-coloured leather writing surface and three small drawers, offering both charm and practicality. Raised on four slender cabriole legs with ormolu mounts at the knees and decorative sabots at the feet, the bureau is united by a shaped apron that enhances its graceful silhouette.
