Outstanding Victorian burr walnut writing slope with metal edges and engraved name plate to the top. This attractive box is covered in amazing burr walnut veneers with superb graining. Inside comprises of ebony lined compartments for ink and pens. There is also three small drawers and storage area underneath the writing slope. The original black tooled leather writing surface with gilt decoration is in superb condition. Like so many of the boxes of this era there are hidden compartment that will conceal private documents. This is a stunning, very functional box of fabulous quality that is not only useful but highly decorative that will add a little piece of history to any desk.
