Description

A superb mid 18th-century London longcase clock, finished in green japanned lacquer with gilt scenes of figures, pagodas, and landscapes. The clock features a silvered brass dial with Roman numerals, matted center, and gilt spandrels, all framed by a richly detailed hood with gilt finials and columns. Clock dial signed by Thomas Hickson, London.
The case retains its original painted and gilded decoration with a lovely aged patina, showcasing fine craftsmanship and elegant proportions typical of early Georgian design.

The clock case is in good,original condition with minimal wear consistent with age and use. The clock movement is beautifully preserved and it has recently been professionally serviced.
