This is a superb signed etching of a child in bed under a Patchwork Quilt with a Teddy. It is one of a series of Children's Pastimes, which are keenly sought after, by the Artist, Eileen Alice Soper, who was born in 1905 and died in 1990.

Eileen Alice Soper was a painter and etcher, who studied under her father George Soper. She exhibited from 1921- 1930. She had an address at Harmer Green, Welwyn, Herts. She exhibited widely including the Royal Academy. She was born in 1905. Her etchings of children's pastimes are very sought after. She was a very successful illustrator of children's books,including Enid Blyton, and also designed figures of children for the Royal Worcester factory.
