Here we have a very good quality rosewood and cross banded sofa table with sapele banding in the top surface .
It also has superb brass cast feet with unusual adjustable brass balls to keep the table level. The stringing in ebony and boxwood is top class, it also has its original wooden knobs, the drawers are oak lined with quadrant beading. Tables with this type of finish were for wealthy homes in the 18th & early 19th century ,and this one would have been made by one of the top cabinet makers most likely in London.
