Stunning extra carved F H Ayres horse on a swing stand. This horse is dated around 1895 and is typical of the more elegant examples of the period. Standing 43” tall the height belies his true stature. He has a very striking bearing and bears the distinctive style and delicate features of one of Ayres’ top carvers. Overpainting was carefully removed revealing the original dappled coat. Small areas have been restored and the very tired factory paint freshened up. The stand is all original as is all the metal furnishings. The tack and hair has been replaced with faithful replicas. Twin pommel holes are present on the horse but are currently covered but can be revealed and pommels supplied if required. An extremely elegant gentleman.
