Description

This very fine example of Chinese silver filigree artwork has been beautifully hand made with intricate detail in the form of a large four winged butterfly with curly antennae.

The butterfly has a two toned blue enamelled body with a green rear end and eyes that are picked out in red enamel.

The butterfly’s wings are patterned and each has coloured enamel raised small circles in light and dark green, purple and red.

The brooch is fitted with a fully functioning hinged pin for fastening, and in addition, it also has a rotating safety catch to safeguard against loss.
In the centre of the back of this brooch is a circular, solid roundel that is clearly stamped with the word "silver".

This brooch is in perfect condition with no chips or losses to the enamel.
