The Model C3 Jason chair by Danish designer Carl Jacobs, comprised a chair seat and back being formed from a single sheet of flexible plywood wrapped around to join below the seat in a jigsaw puzzle-type connection on wooden legs.

British designer, Frank Guille (with experienced gained from his training with Robin Day, Gordon Russell and Kaare Klint) introduced the steel rod base to the design with beech laminate, producing a very light weight and functional dining chair of which this set of 4 chairs are an original example.

Working alongside Frank Guille at Kandya, Paul K Bridston designed the Model 374 table with the steel rod hairpin legs which complement this set.
