Norwegian Silver Spoon

Maker Magnus Aase

Stamped 925S for Sterling Silver

It has surface marks associated with normal use but otherwise in good condition with no dings or damage.

Approximate dimensions weight 54g, lenght 178mm.

Engraved around the figure at the finial is OLAV RYRR with BERGEN going down to the bowl.

The Norwegians started to use the 925 purity for silver in 1920 so this spoon islater than 1920. Before that the purity used was 830.

According to the website about Norwegian silver, the dates for the firm Magnus Aase are 1876-1953 and it was acquired by T. Olsens, so I would imagine this spoon dates from the 1950s.
