Description

This is a good early 20th century Chinese vase on stand of double gourd shape dating from around 1930. The piece is very skilfully crafted with double panels of beautiful Cloisonne wirework showcasing stunning chrysanthemum blooms, birds and prunus blossom in colourful enamels. These are surrounded by Champleve cloisonne work raised in relief which gives a really quality feel to the design. The ornate handles are in gilt bronze depicting seahorse and fish in a stylised design.

The piece stands on a raised altar type hardwood stand giving it a great presence.

It is in really super condition overall, (slight indentation to the left shoulder, photo 5)

A very attractive piece of Chinese art in delightful colours on its original solid mahogany tiered stand.


The piece measures 38 cms in height in total. The stand is 20 wide by 19 deep. The vase itself measures 31 cms high 18 cms wide by 11 deep.
