Description

This is a stunning 19th century Italian Micromosaic wall mirror in excellent condition dating from around 1870. The beautiful hexagonal design has eight exquisite panels of the finest Micromosaic work in tiny colourful hardstone, four in multi coloured millefiore designs and four in tiny forget me not flowers all bordered by floral spandrels set in red ironstone micromosaic. The outer and inner hardwood frame is gessoed and gilded and the mirror has attractive bun feet in the original gilt. The mirror glass appears to be the original in good clean condition.

This is ever such a pretty piece and unusual to find such a fine example of this size measuring 45 cms by 36 cms overall.
