Description

This is a very decorative mid century Chinese jar and cover beautifully hand painted in the famille rose taste with excellent detail and stunning bold colours. The vase is beautifully decorated with panels depicting scenes from courtly life with an emperor and his attendants around him in an open temple setting. The body of the vase is profusely hand painted with colourful butterfly and peony flowers on an ochre ground with lovely raised soft green enamelling detail. The piece is in excellent condition throughout with no damage or restoration and measures 24 cms high by 22 cms in diameter.
