Description

This is a beautiful antique faience tureen and cover by St Amand et Hamage dating from the late 19th Century. The large tureen is of lobed oval form with two entwined handles raised upon four knurl feet and the tureen cover has an apple and blossom knop. It is hand painted in polychrome enamels with floral bouquets and foliage within gilded green and pink scroll cartouche. The tureen is signed by the artist, 'Spertini' and has printed marks to the base.
A really grand size, this measures 43 cms wide and makes a very fine table centre for a special meal.
