Description

A very interesting and rare Victorian surveyor's compass by John Hewitson of Newcastle upon Tyne, dating from around 1850. This has an attractive silvered dial beneath glass set in a brass bezel. (Slight chips to the glass). The compass is mounted with a multi positional joint on a solid mahogany base.
